About Me

Hello and  welcome to In a Colorful World!

I am Ina Reyes-de Vera, an artist-illustrator from the Philippines. Using watercolor, pens, acrylic and gouache as mediums, I create bright and whimsical illustrations dedicated to capturing joyful moments. I draw inspiration from my daily life as a mom of six kids ages 6 to 26, impressions from childhood, and the beautiful surroundings of our tropical island.

I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring new places with my family, and slow, deliberate days. Festivals and celebrations punctuate our year, and I enjoy taking every opportunity to get creative for these meaningful occasions. As a storyteller and daydreamer, one dream passion project is to write and illustrate picture books that capture the wonder of childhood.

Being a mom, and therefore my children’s first teacher, is central to everything I do. Art has long been a tool I use for teaching, exploring and communicating ideas. For the past three decades, the art I’ve created stayed mostly in classrooms and our home’s walls, with an occasional showing in art galleries and group shows. But in the past 5 years, as I grew in courage to share my work, it has trickled out into the world through commissions, charity fundraisers and fairs. And now through this website, I can share my art with you!
